Attribute
From RapidWiki
An attribute describes an observable characteristic of an entity. Such entities may be physically existing objects like cars, persons, etc. but may also include abstract units such as bank accounts or countries. An attribute of a car may be its color, an attribute of a person may be her age. The account balance is an example of an attribute of bank accounts as is the gross domestic product for countries. The term attribute is preferably used in the field of data mining, whereas statisticians also refer to an attribute as feature or variable.

Value types
Attributes may have different values. Depending on the characteristic which is captured by the attribute, these values may have different types. Theoretically, what differentiates different value types is the type of relations that exist and can be verified between the different values.
